NPR reports that Trump’s inauguration will showcase backers from fringe Christian ideologies like the so-called Prosperity Gospel. If you don’t know what that is, John Oliver can take you to school and to church on the subject. It’s no surprise that Trump would gravitate to this corruption of Christianity, but it gives us a unique way to reward Trump so that we ourselves may be rewarded.

This “gospel” is the worst, most concentrated form of fleecing that the era of televangelism spawned. It’s no wonder Trump is drawn to it; it encourages–not just absolves–stealing from the poor.
