A. dropped me an email yesterday about Robert Fripp and the League of Crafty Guitarists touring the East Coast. The tour hits Philly on 5 November 2007 at World Cafe Live.
Fripp is the founding (and only constant) member of King Crimson and a kind of zen master Guitarist. His work spans solo efforts, six incarnations of King Crimson, collaborations, and the League. I particularly like the complex, layered, precise nature of his work with the League which I caught live at the TLA many years ago. You can find some samples of the League’s first album, Show of Hands, on Amazon.com; I particularly recommend Are You Abel?, Askesis, Asturias, Chiara, Eye of the Needle, and Scaling the Whale.
